Understanding the Suction Principle
A vacuum sewage truck works by creating negative pressure inside the tank using a powerful vacuum pump. This pressure difference draws sewage, sludge, and wastewater through the suction pipe and into the sealed tank — no mechanical pushing required.
The Pipe System: The Heart of the Operation
The pipe system is the most critical component of any vacuum sewage truck. It determines suction efficiency, reach, and overall cleaning performance.
Main Suction Hose
The primary suction hose is a large-diameter, heavy-duty flexible pipe that connects directly to the waste source. It is designed to handle thick sludge, solid particles, and high-viscosity liquids without clogging.
Extension Pipes
For deep pits, manholes, or hard-to-reach areas, rigid extension pipes are attached to increase the suction depth and reach. These are typically made from high-strength steel or reinforced composite materials.
Inlet Valve and Control
An inlet valve at the tank entry point controls the flow of material into the tank. The operator can adjust suction intensity and switch between suction and discharge modes using the control panel.
Discharge Pipe
Once the tank is full, the discharge pipe is used to unload the collected waste at a designated disposal site. The discharge process can be gravity-fed or pressure-assisted depending on the truck model.
